The effects of imperialism in Morocco were really long. the french made their money and their main profit by setting a lot of factories mines, and plantations. A lot of the French hired people to work for them for nothing. basically they were doing work

for free but they were kind of forced to do it in a way. French people who taught the Africans were taught to leave their roots and main ways for the traditional European style and they were also encouraged to dress, act and read like them too. And when the Europeans told them to ditch their old traditional ways, and most of their traditions disappeared because of it.
The Struggle For Independence
The struggle for Morocco’s independence didn’t take too long and was fairly quick and it was way less harsh than other surrounding countries independence. Also, Morocco is still to this day responsible for a huge chunk of the worlds phosphate production They gained their own independence on November 18th 1956. Like for example, Moroccans still speak French and they also have signs in Arabic (their main language) and French. Morocco broke free from being under rule by the French with the return of King Mohammed V in 1956 from his absence by being in Madagascar and Corsica. On November 18th, 1956, King Mohammed V declared Morocco’s independence.
Reasons and Motivations For Imperialism in Morocco
Reasons for imperialism in North Africa including Morocco were that some feelings of racial and some higher rank things kind of inspired a lot of Europeans wanted to express and introduce their culture to other lands. The industrial revolution created such a high demand for new goods, new markets, and raw materials. And the europeans engaged other rival nations/countries to compete for territory & other things. French imperialists hoped to build and expand the French economy to help pay their debt with the Prussians and the Great Depression of the 1870s. And they wanted British expansion in West Africa to be no more. The French tried to convert Africans into citizens and tried to make them like their own people, the French.

And they (The French) followed a policy of assimilation (the state of being assimilated; people of different backgrounds come to see themselves as part of a larger national family ) which relied on the french people as teachers and models for the africans.
